Zeyva Shipping N.V. started as a dream that became a goal. A goal set by two people driven with the same passion for shipping and business. Today, their legacy remains and has evolved into an agency we proudly call our “family”. 

 

Sandra’s story-

For Sandra Vaissaire-Bilkerdijk it was her ambition to establish her own shipping company before her 40th birthday. For her it was a bit different, she always had a passion for sailing. However she was told that sailing was a man’s job. A mother of 2 with the ambition to make something of herself, she decided to challenge herself and got herself a position as an office assistant at a dredging company. Later she developed as an operations officer of a shipping company.

 

Michiel’s story- 

For Michiel Bilkerdijk it was first a dream to become a ship captain, but due to circumstances he was unable to finish his studies abroad. This didnt stop him from working his dream job. He decided to also work within the Shipping Industry. It was during this time that he met a progressive and ambitious woman named Sandra. 

Both driven by their love for shipping and business, they joined together to build what we today know as Zeyva Shipping N.V. 

 

The name-

The name Zeyva was decided. The name is a combination of the first three letters of the names of the founder’s two eldest children.

 

Ups and Downs-

Not all was smooth sailing after all. 

Although Sandra and Michiel continued to build a life together, growing their family, Zeyva Shipping N.V. would be inactive for the following years after being established for the first time. 

 

A family matter-

Zeyva Shipping N.V. would once again be revived, this time driven by the desire to become a successful family business. Joined by their children, Michiel and Sandra rebuild what was once their dream company.

Zeyva Shipping N.V., a knowledge driven company in commercial shipping which can advise,guide and execute orders with a high quality profile.

Zefoshag timeline 2020/2021

A new year often defines new beginnings, and with that said new opportunities. The year 2020 has left its mark on all of us, but we must remember to stay motivated even through the hardest of times.

Here at Zeyva Forwarding and Shipping Agency N.V. we have kept our motivation to continue growing and developing as a business and shipping agency. One of our most recent accomplishments include our recertification of the Iso9001 2015.

In the field of quality management, our management team has had the opportunity to complete an internal audit training.  And for the safety of our company we have also ensured our team to succesfully complete a first aid refreshment coarse. These are only a few of many courses our team at Zefoshag was provided with.  Our company has also taken steps into expanding in other branches. As of January 2021, our company has introduced its business development department. This department concerns new projects in the field of freightforwarding for business facilities.

Besides these recent developments, we have also ensured the safety of our team, partners and customers by following our country’s covid guidelines. As you may know, one of our company’s most important instructions is safety first.
